You may register with the library if…
- you are a Hungarian or foreign national at or over the age of 18,
- over the age of 16 hold an official request issued by the head of your secondary school and receive the explicit permission of the director of the library.
Advance registration is required if…
- you visit us for the first time,
- your library card has expired.

The conditions of library membership are…
- verification of your identity and address,
- acceptance of and compliance with the Library Regulations,
- settlement of the library membership fee (Fee schedule),
- signature of the library's Privacy and Data Protection Policy.
On the occasion of each visit, you will have to...
- verify your identity with the photo ID used during registration,
- go through mandatory luggage check,
- walk through the security gate.
Please do not carry any spikes, knives or knife-like blades with you when visiting the library!
Opening hours
Monday–Friday: 9:00–20:00
Saturday: 10:00–18:00
At the first checkpoint (chain fence) admission begins 10 minutes before the opening time and ends 10 minutes before the closing time of the library. Please note that the Paliamentary Guard closes the library gate at 20:00 (at 18:00 on Saturdays), thus visitors are required to exit the building by this time. Therefore, we kindly ask you to leave the reading areas by 19:45 (by 17:45 on Saturdays).
